The BSM Car Park Network advances its expansion with the reopening of the BSM Avinguda Gaudí car park. This facility, located near the Sagrada Família and the Modernist Complex of Sant Pau, has resumed its minute-based parking service following structural rehabilitation works that began in May 2023, enhancing its comfort and functionality.
Spanning 8,640 m² across three floors, the car park offers 220 spaces for cars and 108 for motorcycles. It has fully resumed operations with upgraded facilities, a refreshed look in line with the new image of the BSM Car Parks, and a service offering that goes beyond parking, catering to the evolving habits and needs of the public. The renovation involved an investment of €4.2 million.
More Endolla Barcelona charging points and space for bicycles and parcel collection
BSM’s new car park model prioritises sustainable mobility. To this end, the BSM Avinguda Gaudí car park has added 10 new Endolla Barcelona charging points, bringing the total to 18 (13 for cars and 5 for motorcycles). Additionally, a Bicipark with 56 spaces has been introduced, complementing the 10 secure bicycle storage areas already available within the BSM Car Park Network.
In alignment with its commitment to fostering emission-free mobility, the car park also features a newly designed area for parcel collection. Located on level -1, it includes Click&Collect lockers and recycling bins for paper and plastic. This area is accessible 24/7, enabling users to pick up or return online purchases, offering local residents and workers a sustainable alternative to home delivery.
This car park has all parking spaces monitored and an intelligent LED lighting system
The refurbishment includes technological enhancements, such as a parking space monitoring system previously implemented at the recently opened BSM Litoral Port car park. This innovative technology allows staff to remotely monitor occupancy levels and provides live images of each parking space.
The entry and exit system has also been upgraded to use licence plate recognition, a feature available for motorcycles registered with SMOU. Across the network, 20 car parks now enable motorcycles to access without requiring a ticket at entry.
Another notable improvement is the introduction of LED lighting, which enhances brightness and comfort throughout the facility. The lighting adjusts its intensity based on movement in the car park, contributing to energy efficiency.
New Customer Area and a more user-friendly experience
To enhance user experience, a new Customer Area has been created to replace the old control room. Located at the entrance, this welcoming space allows users to address any queries in person. It also features an interactive screen for video-call assistance during off-hours.
These improvements collectively make parking at the facility more convenient, efficient, user-friendly, and secure.
In addition to structural, technological, and service upgrades, the car park adopts the new branding of the BSM Car Park Network, launched in June with the opening of the BSM Litoral Port car park.
This fresh visual identity, characterised by light and vibrant tones, reflects the values and dynamic role BSM Car Parks play in a Barcelona increasingly committed to electric mobility, shared vehicle use, and more efficient goods distribution.
